AGA's new plant for € 45 million will meet the demand from the company's steadily increasing number of customers, while at the same time strengthening the security of supply. The mayor of Vejle welcomes the new jobs in the Danish municipality.
There were big smiles and high spirits this morning, as Vice President Ole Kronborg from AGA and Mayor Jens Ejner Christensen from Vejle broke ground for AGA's new, large air separation plant at Vejle. And with good reason, Ole Kronborg says: "With the new factory, we will be tripling our production capacity to match both our current and future growth. Increasingly, companies are choosing AGA as their partner, so we now have a market share in Denmark of approximately 40 percent, making us the largest industrial gas company in Denmark".
New jobs
Mayor Jens Ejner Christensen is also excited at the prospect that the new production plant will create five new jobs, while at the same time, 20-25 drivers will be associated with the new factory. He also foresees that new jobs will be created in local companies, serving AGA in the future: "We are really looking forward to AGA coming. Not only because it creates new jobs and increases our income over the corporate tax - but also because it is part of the municipality's DNA to have large production companies like AGA, so we get a varied supply of work opportunities covering both academic workplaces and jobs in production".
Freezing, oxygenation and welding
The raw material for AGA's new air separation plant is plain, life-giving air, the air that all living creatures breathe. AGA purifies and cools the air to about minus 200 degrees Celsius, where the gases oxygen and nitrogen, among others, are liquefied and can be separated from one another. They then constitute a part of AGA's many industrial gases and specialty gases. The gases are of vital importance for modern society and countless applications such as: Freezing and cooling of food, oxygen for patients in hospitals, drug production, electronics production, oxygen for the steel industry, purification of waste water and polluted grounds as well as, and not least, welding and cutting in the industry.
Reliable supply for secure customers
With the tripling of the production capacity in the new factory, AGA's customers get "a unique" security, says Ole Kronborg:
"The new production plant further strengthens the security of supply. It is crucial for our customers that they can rely on a continuous gas supply, as it is necessary for their production. At the same time, they profit from AGA being a part of The Linde Group - the world's largest gas company - we have a strong supply chain that helps ensure that we always deliver”.
Green profile
Ole Kronborg emphasizes that the new factory increases the sustainability of AGA's production at the same time:
"AGA is founded on a willingness to prioritize the environment and safety above all, and this is also strongly present in the new factory. We will have an even more sustainable profile with both reduced and green energy consumption - at the same time, our transport needs will be reduced and thus more environmentally friendly ".
