Linde Gas A / S and the Port of Aabenraa have just entered into a new collaboration with the ambition of producing sustainable hydrogen and a whole range of environmentally friendly, hydrogen-based products at the Port of Aabenraa. Now the parties offer "attractive production conditions" to companies that want to be part of the project.
Over the next few years, the Port of Aabenraa and Linde Gas will jointly investigate the possibilities of establishing an electrolysis plant for the production of hydrogen at the Port of Aabenraa. The plant will convert the green power from the offshore wind turbines in the North Sea into climate-friendly hydrogen, which according to the plan will be used for the production of a number of green, hydrogen-based products at the Port of Aabenraa.
Power-to-X
The new collaboration is a so-called Power-to-X project. Power-to-X means that green power is converted into sustainable hydrogen, which in turn can be used for the production of environmentally friendly, hydrogen-based products such as ammonia, methanol, methane and fuel for trucks, aircraft and ships. Here, the oil is replaced by green hydrogen as the energy part of the fuels, and that makes them far more environmentally friendly.
"I am really happy with our plan, because it supports both the green transition and Linde's strategy to increase the production of green hydrogen," says Ulrik Nielsen, Linde's Head of Clean Hydrogen in Denmark.
